Today we are a 501c3 registered federal charity
and all your donations are tax deductible, but it hasn't always been
so.....
Hands Extended was established in 2003 as a simple
outreach to a small orphanage (Bethel) in San Luis, Mexico. The first
year we supplied clothing for the children at the orphanage and a few
toys. My husband furnished the funds to do this first year. In 2004 we
extended our outreach doing Christmas for the same orphanage, but added
one family to just help with everyday needs like food and clothing. In
2005 friends and family got involved with funds, toys and whatever they
could do to help. In 2006 we grew and made a much larger leap. We did
Christmas for the same orphanage, added a boys home (Oasis) affiliated
with Bethel orphanage, added one more family and more projects for the
Oaxaca Indians. In addition to friends and family White Horse Toys in
Issaquah, WA. joined us by furnishing toys for all the children in the
Oaxaca area.
Time has passed and we continue to grow with God
bringing us new challenges each year and ways to show His love for us
and the people He puts in our path. We continue to pray that all those
that touch or are touched by this ministry see God in us and in what we
do. We believe an example is worth 1,000's of words and know God will
use all we do as long as its done for Him.
1 Corinthians 10:31 (New
International Version)
31So
whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory
of God.
